The Buckeyes lost their opening game of the season against the Arkansas Razorbacks, rated 6th in the nation. Ohio State made several mistakes in the red zone, which cost them dearly. Although he made a couple of nice plays on the ground and in the air, such as a spectacular 30 yards TD pass to WR Corey Brown, QB Braxton Miller broke down under pressure, turning the ball over four times (three interceptions and one critical fumble that was returned for a touchdown). Ohio State also had a very difficult time running the ball, often getting tackled for a loss. Defense made some nice plays, like Christian Bryant's 63 yards interception for a touchdown in the second half, but the team allowed too many third down conversions. New Buckeyes head coach Chris Staymates promised that his team would have an intense week of practice and preparation before facing Notre Dame in week 2.
